AFGHANISTAN: Through the mountains

With Afghanistan's first appointed female governor, Habiba Sorabi, Bamyan province is located in heart of Afghanistan. It is predominately the home and cultural center for the ethnic group called the Hazaras.

The mountains cover ninty percent of the province and the winters last up to six months. Through the mountains we traveled West to reach the only national park in Afghanistan, Band - e - Amir, covering its six inhabiting lakes.
